Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Supervisor of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) Education, the Administrative Assistant for Federal and STEAM Education will be responsible for supporting the STEAM Lending Library, STEAM Saturdays programs, PAsmart grant projects, Education of Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness (ECYEH) and Title IIA Professional Learning. The successful candidate will communicate efficiently, effectively, and professionally and maintain accurate records for all projects.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Communicate efficiently, effectively, and professionally with all stakeholders.
  • Maintain and develop county specific Resource Directories that are available to all Local Education Agencies, agencies, and families.
  • Responsible for the distribution of all ECYEH resource materials to LEAs, Charter Schools, Head Start/Early Childhood Education programs, and agencies.
  • Establish weekly contact with shelters to collect daily totals of students not attending school and the reason for the absence.
  • Develop weekly contacts with Early Childhood Education centers to support the recognition and reporting of students experiencing homelessness.
  • Provide support for PAsmart and other STEAM grant initiatives.Maintain accurate budget spreadsheet for each Title IIA contract.
  • Work collaboratively with the Bucks IU business office personnel and Supervisor of STEAM Education to monitorbudgets.Maintain accurate communication records: documenting phone calls, emails, and conversations with stakeholders.
  • Process purchase orders and reimbursement requests.
  • Communicate regularly to the Supervisor of STEAM Education regarding Title IIA requests and other projects.
  • Develop and maintain a calendar to facilitate the lending of STEAM tools from the Bucks IU STEAM Lending Library to Bucks County schools.
  • Monitor the sending and return of STEAM tools from the Bucks IU STEAM Lending Library.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee may be required to stand for long periods, and to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

 

Travel: Travel is not required for this position.

 

 

Education and Experience:

  • Level of Degree:

 

  • High school diploma is required. Associate’s Degree .

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

 

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
