Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and mandated school closure period, the Bucks IU Extended School Year (ESY) program for Summer 2020 will now be held using a remote/virtual teaching platform. The number of ESY staff needed in the virtual setting is less than the Bucks IU anticipated for a traditional ESY classroom program. If future needs change for any reason, the Bucks IU will certainly consider your application of employment for ESY.
Summary:
Occupational Therapist for Extended School Year Program for students with Autism, Multiple Disabilities, and other health impairments. Itinerant schedule serving students in multiple center based, community based and home based locations. Dates may vary by site. Various locations and itinerant positions available in Upper, Middle and Lower Bucks County. Hours vary by assignment.
Essential Functions:
- Independently supervise and direct classroom support staff.
- Independently plan and effectively deliver curriculum based on needs specified in Individual Educational Plans.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee maybe required to stand for long periods, and to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Travel:
Travel may be required for in home and itinerant instruction throughout Bucks County. Mileage is reimbursed in accordance with current IRS guidelines and rates.
Education and Experience:
Level of Degree:
- Bachelors Degree
- Occupational Therapist license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience working with students with Autism, Life Skills, Multiple Disabilities and/or Other Health Impairments.
- Experience working in educational settings with professional communication and collaboration skills.
- Due to changes in the program, Bucks IU employees currently working in a virtual setting will have preference as candidates for the ESY program
- Experience using virtual platforms and technology is preferred.
